Pakistan vs South Africa T20 World Cup 2009 Semi Final Highlights

With impressive victories against New Zealand and Ireland in Super Eight matches, Pakistan managed to grab a spot in final-four. And with that, the real test arrived. Pakistan had to face the mighty South Africa in semifinal which was the unbeaten team of the tournament. Experts already described South Africa as being the favorite of that game, and some even suggested that final will be played between the two unbeaten teams of the tournament, which were Sri Lanka and South Africa. But God had other plans, a hint of which came at the time of toss when Pakistan won. And when Shahid Afridi came at number three and scored a splendid half century, it was confirmed that God indeed had other plans. With Afridi’s 50, Pakistan gave a decent target of 150. And then came South African batting. At the start, things were looking bleak for Pakistan when South African openers hammered 40 runs in just five overs. But it was indeed Afridi’s day. After the dismissal of Graeme Smith in 6th over, Afridi quickly sent back Herschelle Gibbs and AB de Villiers, two of the most inform batsmen in South African camp. With that, South Africans didn’t get time to settle again. Jacques Kallis tried to put some resistance but in vain. So to cut the story short, Pakistan won by 7 runs, against the prediction of cricket gurus.
So get some tea or coffee (whatever you like) and enjoy the highlights of T20 World Cup 2009 Semifinal between Pakistan and South Africa.
